Reader’s Question:
I decided to get a second hand car from a friend. It was practically brand new so I considered getting car insurance. Looking at the rates that I got from insurance guys I realized how expensive car insurance are, now I’m getting second thoughts about getting my car insured. I would gladly get a plan if I had a more affordable option, are there any cheaper car insurance options out there?

“Cheaper car insurance” can be a very relative concept in the world of insurance. Whenever you deal with insurance plans always keep in mind that coverage is just as important as the premium rate. You may find a cheaper car insurance option based on the premium rate but coverage may not be as much.
When going over insurance quotations look at the span of coverage compared to the premium rate. The idea is looking for a premium rate you are comfortable paying that comes with enough coverage to protect your car from common accidents. Even if you find an insurance option that seems to be perfect in both affordability and coverage be sure to read the fine print as there maybe certain clauses or conditions that would make an otherwise fair deal a little sour. In this sense you are looking for a more balanced car insurance option and not really a cheaper car insurance plan. Be very detailed and conscientious when talking to brokers or dealers and always read any document fully before committing to anything so you are sure about whatever you are getting yourself into.
